Follow My Author Blog

Hey, everyone, if you’re already following my posts here. I’ll be posting more frequently on my new blog page, Allix Booth. Definitely jump over there to get updates on books and such and please check out the new trailer for the book. Foundations, LLC will be publishing the novel August 1st so definitely get your copy at any online retailer next week! Thanks again bloggers! 🙂

Authors Looking for Reviews

I’m going to start reviewing self published/ traditionally published author’s works. The best part is, instead of me telling you I’ll review it if you send me a free copy, I’m going to actually pay for your book. I will accept anyone’s interest in me reviewing your book and because I want to support the world of writing. Like music, we all have to make a living some how, and right now, I want to support you guys, and give you an honest review at my own wallets expense. If you are interested, please send me a message on here. If this gets to be a little crazy with submissions, please be patient with me. Right now, it’s first come, first serve.

To add the cherry to this, for every tenth author that submits their name and book, I will purchase their paperback. For every twentieth, I will purchase the hardback. Ready, set, GOOOO!!!!!

More Menus!

I just added two more menus yesterday. One I’d for my author spotlight where you can find my paperback and hardback books for sale. The other is the Phantom Force page, where Murdoch Jones is writing his online journal entries about his travels and battles across the galaxy.

For any newcomers, I am looking for beta readers, reviewers for Horizon, and artists interesting in sketching are for my sequel Eversoul. If you or someone you know is interested, contact me at my email! Or comment me here. Thanks!

Early Morning

I woke up early this morning because I’m finally getting this AC fixed today. So today is going to be one of my catch up days. i needed to start early with blogging because I probably won’t get a chance to post anything later. I also have to catch up on both of my shows, America’s Got Talent and The Strain. Work has been pretty brutal on Labor Day Weekend. I think it’s time for me to really dig deep and get these novels written. I know I have a passion for writing but like a fellow blogger said earlier last week or two weeks ago. When you hit that 20,000 words mark, it is like the dead zone for creativity.

I’m still trying to ponder on some books to read since I’ve already gone through my collections three times around these last few months. If you have suggestions, they would be appreciated. Also, if you have a novel that you’d like for me to review or just read, please let me know. I pretty much read any genre these days.

Reviews for Authors

I had a post a week or two ago about reviewing author’s novels/stories. If you are interested in receiving a review from me, you can contact me here, or through my email. The criteria I base my reviews on are: character development, plot development, and mechanics. I would be highly interested in helping you. I base my reviews on a 5 star scale.

5 Stars- Amazing, engrossing, page turner

4 Stars- Well written, nice plot

3 Stars- A balance between nice and needs work.

2 Stars- Needs work. Couldn’t finish it.

1 Star- Bored to death, needs editing, and terrible character development.

That’s my grade scale, and I will also try to balance my likes and dislikes about a novel. Also I mostly review, horror/science fiction/literature fiction/occasionally romance. I am open for more genres, but those are my favorite ones to review. If you have any questions, you may contact me at anytime. It may take a few for me to respond, but I will get to you eventually, and if I don’t. Send me another request after 30 days.

I will post my reviews on the kindle website or which ever website you would like my reviews on. I will have more descriptive reviews on here though.

The Creative and The Work Related

I haven’t posted much about my days lately. I think I’m going to update you guys on the last few days. It was all work, and a lot of wanting to jump back on here to post some imaginative and beautiful short story. I’ve really been trying to post some poetry, as well as, short stories, but I have been so fixated on my novel, Eversoul, I haven’t been able to focus on my posts much. I have also been trying to read a lot of your posts and trying to get around to all of you guys to really see what’s out there. I mean, I could sit down and read the same author, the same poet, and the same magazine about the same thing I usually read, but this week I really wanted to dedicate my time to checking out people I don’t know. People who write extraordinarily well, whether it’s poetry, inspirational, or weird. Either way, I have really enjoyed looking through a lot of blogs.

I think we can all learn from each other. Everyone has their own writing style, their own talent, and their own expertise in a subject. I am still trying to learn what my expertise is, but I know writing is the most comforting and therapeutic thing I do. I’ve read a multitude of reviews on authors on here that I am excited to really try to dig into, so I can see what stories are out there.

It’s nice to know there are people who still have a soul. I’m about to go watch The Strain. Hope all of you sleep well, and I’ll be writing some short stories, poetry, and I might even post some chapters of Horizon on here for you guys. Tomorrow is my off day from the day job of playing with fruits and vegetables as you can see. Keep writing and enjoy reading!

Fruit Bowls, Books, and Dinner (Oh my!)

It has been a very long day today. Have you ever just taken a deep breath, and said “Wow, I made it!” Yeah, that was me after work today. After chopping up about 250 bowls of mixed fruit today at work, I think I could go for some rum and possibly a nice lager. Anyways, there hasn’t been too much going on in my life other than seeing what’s going on outside of the house. The world crashing down, people hating each other, and the usual teens twerking across the internet.

I started reading a new book by James Patterson called 1st to Die. Now, so far it seems very interesting. For anyone reading it, spoiler alert:

So far, I’ve left off, where there has been a heinous murder in the Hyatt Hotel in San Francisco. A groom was brutally stabbed to death, and his bribe stabbed and raped. My thoughts on this are a little scary because of the events that led up to these two lovers being murdered. As some of you know, I am hopefully getting married to Nadine soon, and this book isn’t giving the idea of staying in a hotel before the big honeymoon a good rep. Anyways, it seems like a very interesting book, I just really wonder what this serial killers motive is to kill newlyweds.

Time to eat some dinner.
